Old Lakeshore Right-Of-Way And Cull Drain Bridge To Be Discussed

Residents have a chance Tuesday evening to offer opinions on the future of the Old Lakeshore right-of-way and Cull Drain Bridge.

A public meeting is scheduled for 7pm to 10pm at the Lambton College Event Centre on London Rd.

The ownership of the 800-metre stretch of waterfront land is in dispute.

The city maintains the right-of-way belongs to the municipality, but the owners of some of the 25 properties backing onto the land challenge that.

Several have done their own shoreline protection work, and built boat houses and decks.

City staff estimate it could cost up to $10-million to do proper shoreline protection and build a trail along the right-of-way.

It's hoped a report goes to council early in the new year.
