United Way Campaign Surpasses 80% Mark

The Sarnia-Lambton United Way has hit the 81% mark of its annual fundraising campaign.

So far $1.62-million has been collected toward the $2-million goal.

Executive Director Dave Brown says they're catching up to last years pace and are running about 2% behind 2015.

"We're hopeful, I"m not confident enough to say we will but I'm hopeful," says Brown. "We still have four more weeks to go and lots of campaigns still running."

Last year, donations surpassed the set $1.95-million goal and reached the $2-million mark for the first time.

The United Way of Sarnia-Lambton funds 20 agencies providing 37 programs and services to the community.
