Kimball Rd. Speed Limit Maintained

Lambton County Council has decided to maintain the existing speed limit of 80 km/h on Kimball Rd. between Rokeby Line and Petrolia Line.

However, additional signs warning motorists of children in the area will be placed along that stretch of roadway.

St. Clair Township Deputy Mayor Peter Gilliland couldn't dismiss neighbourhood concerns.

"There's probably six or eight houses on each side of the road that are compacted fairly close together, it's like a settlement almost, and there's a lot of young families there," says Gilliland. "There's children being picked up by school buses, there's been accidents there as well, so I think it's only reasonable that we have signs put up there."

In the meantime, county council did decide to reduce the speed limit on Oil Heritage Rd. through Oil City from 70 km/h to 50 km/h.
