Naming Of New Point Edward Casino Operator Imminent

A spokesman with the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) says the new, private owner/operator of the Point Edward Casino will be announced in the next week.

Tony Bitonti says the winning bidder will also run the slots at Dresden, Clinton, Hanover, and London's Western Fair.

OLG will maintain oversight of the gaming facilities.

Bitonti says the 20-year contract will guarantee the casino's 325 jobs for at least one year and the village will continue to receive regular quarterly payments from OLG.

He adds once the final contracts are signed, the new owner will take over the riverfront facility in 125 days.
