Sarnia Building Activity Mirrors 2015

Sarnia's building pace is exactly where it was at this time in 2015.

A $1.8-million permit for a new Carpenters Local 1256 training centre on Business Park Dr. in the Sarnia Industrial Park on London Line, pushed the November total to $6.4-million, double that of November of last year.

The year-to-date total through 11 months is $69.6-million, about $100,000 more than 2015.

Building permits issued for single family homes so far this year total 137, which is 15 more than last year.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
