Final City Council Meeting Of The Year

Sarnia Council meets Monday afternoon for the last time in 2016.

Council meets in closed session at 3:30pm to discuss labour relations or employee negotiations, litigation and advice subject to solicitor-client privilege.

In it's regular meeting at 4pm, a presentation is planned from the Lake Huron Centre for Coastal Conservation.

Colonel Barry Hogan of the 1st Hussars will present the city with a framed original certificate of ownership for the Sarnia-Lambton Afghanistan Monument recently dedicated at Veterans Park.

The Aboriginal Cultural Learning Centre at Lambton College is seeking a fee waiver to hold a three day Pow Wow at Clearwater Arena next April.

2017 marks the 25th anniversary of the annual Pow Wow at Lambton, coinciding with the college's 50th anniversary and 150th anniversary of Canada.

Sarnia Council is being asked to approve the code of conduct, a new complaint policy and expand the planning and building permit fee exemption program to include the Mitton Village Community Improvement Area.

Renewing the process of selling the abandoned Sarnia General Hospital site is also recommended.
