Sanctions Lifted At Bluewater Health

Sarnia's Bluewater Health has declared an end to the gastrointestinal outbreak in the Mental Health Inpatient Unit.

The outbreak, was declared on December 9, after fewer than five patients developed symptoms.

Infection Control Manager Helen Shaw says thanks to enhanced cleaning efforts there have been no new patient cases since December 11.

The unit will resume normal activities and visitor restrictions have been lifted.

Everyone should still continue to use hand sanitizer when entering and leaving the facility and do not visit loved ones if you are ill.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
