Lighting Competition Winners Announced

The winners in this year's Celebration of Lights residential lighting competition have been announced.

Judges selected Dario Liegghio's home at 874 Maxwell St. as the best display. He gets the $300 first place prize.

George Laird at 1237 Echo Rd. receives $200 for second place and Ace Concordia at 821 Retlaw Dr. wins the third place prize of $100.

There were over 30 entries this year, 50% more than previous years.

Bluewater Power provided the prize money as competition sponsor.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
