RIDE Program Leads To Drug Charges

A 25-year-old Sarnia man faces several charges, including impaired operation of a motor vehicle by drug, after he was stopped by OPP at a RIDE program at Mandaumin Rd. and Confederation Line Wednesday night.

Police stopped a 2015 Chevy Silverado pickup around 9:50pm and allege that the driver had been impaired by drugs.

The man is also charged with possession of marijuana, having open liquor in the vehicle, driving with no insurance, no licence, and improper licence plate validation.

He'll appear in Sarnia court February 22 to answer to the charges.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
