Stay Sober Behind The Wheel

Sarnia Police is reminding residents to plan ahead before drinking New Years Eve

Constable John Sottosanti says officers will still be out patrolling city streets.

"What we're asking is, first of all, be responsible and don't drink and drive," said Sottosanti. "Make sure that you have a designated driver or you find alternative means of getting to where you're going."

Sottosanti says officers will be watching for erratic drivers and anyone they suspect may have been drinking will be pulled over.

He says ride programs are also planned.

Sottosanti encourages residents to take advantage of taxi services, shuttles, and city busses when celebrating at holiday parties this year.
