Spirit Top Sting In Shootout

The Sarnia Sting dropped a 3-2 decision to the Saginaw Spirit in a shootout on Friday to continue a six-game losing skid.

The Sting were first on the board when Jaden Lindo scored 17:35 into the first period, but Saginaw tied things up with a goal 54 seconds into the second.

Adam Ruzicka regained the lead for the Sting with a goal early in the third, but once again the Spirit were able to tie things up with a goal with less a minute left in regular play.

After no scoring in overtime, the Spirit scored the win in the shootout.

Saginaw also outshot Sarnia 37-29.

The Sting are back at home on Saturday to take on the Sudbury Wolves at 7:05pm.
