UPDATE: School Board Approves Name For Consolidated School

The Lambton Kent District School Board has approved the name "Plympton-Wyoming Public School" for the Consolidation of South Plympton and Wyoming Public Schools.

The four finalists included South Plympton Wyoming Public School, Sir John Colborne Memorial, and Wyoming Station Public School.

The Ad Hoc Naming Committee was comprised of trustees, school staff and community representatives, along with school and LKDSB administration.

The board will receive $3.7-million from the province to create new classrooms, a daycare and a gymnasium, while the board will provide $2-million for further improvements including heating and cooling upgrades and classroom enhancements.

The schools are set to merge into one at the Wyoming site in September.
