Thousands of pigs perished when a large barn was destroyed by fire in Plympton-Wyoming Tuesday morning.
Plympton-Wyoming Fire Chief Steve Clemens says the three alarm blaze in the 5600 block of Confederation Line broke out just before 9am.
A livestock barn was fully engulfed in flames when emergency responders arrived.
Chief Clemens says about 4,000 pigs were in the structure and they all perished.
Lambton OPP Constable Travis Parsons says fire departments from Plympton-Wyoming, Brooke-Alvinston and Warwick responded, along with Lambton EMS.
A damage estimate had not yet been determined and the Ontario Fire Marshal's Office was contacted to investigate the cause.
