OPP Seize Thousands In Counterfeit Cash, Three Charged

Lambton OPP have charged three men with possessing counterfeit money following a traffic stop.

On Friday around 4pm, an officer on general patrol stopped a vehicle on Discovery Line in Enniskillen Township for a Highway Traffic Act violation.

One of the men was wanted by OPP and was arrested. A search revealed $9,230 of suspected US counterfeit money in various denominations.

Quentin Abraham Shawnoo, 28, and Harvey Wesley Young, 48, both of Petrolia, and Samuel Edward George, 42, of Forest are charged.

Young and George were released from custody and will appear in Sarnia court March 27. Shawnoo was being held for a bail hearing.

Young was arrested again Sunday evening after an officer noticed a suspicious vehicle parked in an alleyway on Petrolia Line. Police say they located $400 in US counterfeit money as well as suspected methamphetamine and marijuana. Young is facing another charge of possessing counterfeit money and possession of a schedule one and schedule two substance.

He was back in custody pending a bail hearing.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
