Local Residents Show Support For Muslim Community

It was standing room only Wednesday evening during an open house at the Sarnia mosque on London Line.

Over 200 area residents filled the Sarnia mosque to honour the six men killed in a recent mass shooting during prayers at a mosque in Quebec City.

Sarnia Mayor Mike Bradley, Sarnia-Lambton MPP Bob Bailey and Police Chief Phil Nelson all condemned the attack, offering words of support and condolences for the Muslim community.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
