Sarnia Man Charged In Valentine's Day Stabbing

A dispute over property ownership led to an assault late Tuesday afternoon in Sarnia.

City police responded to a disturbance at a home located in the south end of Lansdowne Ave. just before 5pm, and discovered a broken window.

Constable John Sottosanti says the investigation revealed a 22-year-old man, who had left the scene, was stabbed.

"The victim was located and transported to local hospital for medical care that was non-life threatening," says Sottosanti.

He says a 25-year-old Sarnia man, who resides at the home, was arrested and has been charged with assault with a weapon and assault causing bodily harm.

The investigation is continuing.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
