Sting Weather The Storm 6-2

The Sarnia Sting downed the Guelph Storm 6-2 in OHL action on Wednesday.

Nick Grima and Adam Ruzicka both scored for Sarnia in the first nine minutes of the game. The Storm had a goal shortly after, but Ruzicka scored his second of the night to give the Sting a 3-1 lead.

Louis Latta scored for Sarnia 6:38 into the second, followed by Franco Sproviero who scored two minutes later to extend Sarnia's lead to 5-1. The Storm was able to score their second of the game 9:36 into the second frame, but Jordan Ernst answered with a goal before the third to make it 6-2 for Sarnia.

After a scoreless final period, the Sting left the ice with the win.

Sarnia goaltender Justin Fazio made 26 saves out of 28 shots on net.

The Sting will take on the Spitfires in Windsor on Thursday. The puck drops at 7:05pm.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
