Union Gas Opens New Sarnia Operations Centre (GALLERY)

Union Gas officially opened the doors to its new Sarnia Operations Centre Tuesday morning.

Several local dignitaries were on hand for a ribbon cutting ceremony at the Sarnia 402 Business Park.

The utility is the third company to move into the 85 acre park on the south side of Hwy. 402 at the Airport Rd. interchange.

Union Gas Vice President of Distribution Operations Mike Shannon says their new $6.2-million facility is strategically located to better serve the area.

"If you take a look at the Sarnia industrial area, it's a huge nodal point for natural gas service in the province of Ontario," says Shannon. "Lots of industry, so it's really important that our customers in the Sarnia area are served, both residential, commercial and industrial and also that our employees are able to provide top-notch service."

Shannon says the nearly 12,000 sq ft building will enhance operations with integrated, efficient and cost effective systems.

The facility was built by Agri-Urban Buildings Inc. of Dresden.
