Three Charged With Trafficking In Sarnia Drug Bust

Three people are in custody following a drug seizure in Sarnia.

Members of the Sarnia Police Service Vice Unit began their investigation into activities at a home in the 800-block of Wellington St. in January.

Prior to searching the residence, officers arrested a 31-year-old male passenger in a vehicle during a traffic stop on Tuesday just after 5:30pm. Police say he was found to be in possession of various controlled substances and a quantity of cash.

Just before 6pm Tuesday, officers executed a search warrant on Wellington St. and a 45-year-old man and a 46-year-old woman were taken into custody.

Officers seized 80 g of methamphetamine with a street value of over $8,000, $950 worth of methadone, $690 worth of hydromorphone tablets, $230 worth of marijuana and $190 worth of cannabis-resin.

All three suspects face possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession charges.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
