Tractor Trailer Crash Sends Driver To Hospital

A truck driver was taken to hospital after a tractor trailer transporting carbon dioxide crashed on Hwy. 40 in Sarnia Tuesday afternoon.

The Ontario Provincial Police say around 4:30pm, a tractor trailer travelling north on Hwy. 40 entered an on-ramp near Degurse Dr. and tipped onto its side.

The driver was taken to hospital with unknown injuries.

Hwy. 40 in the area of Degurse Dr. was closed until about 2am Wednesday while the carbon dioxide was safely contained and the tractor trailer removed.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
