Search Of Bridge Area Fails To Locate Woman

An extensive search in Point Edward has failed to locate a woman suspected of trying to steal from a vehicle.

Just after 10:30pm on Wednesday, Lambton OPP and EMS responded to a parking lot under the Blue Water Bridge where the woman, who appeared to be upset, had been seen in a parked vehicle.

The driver door of the vehicle was found to be open and the woman was gone.

The owner of the vehicle was located, at which time it was determined the suspect had entered the unlocked vehicle with the intent of carrying out a theft.

The Western Region OPP Canine Unit was called in, but the woman could not be found.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the OPP, their nearest police authority or Crime Stoppers.
