TD Confirms Closure Of Wyoming Branch

TD Canada Trust is standing by its decision to close its 109-year-old branch in Plympton-Wyoming.

Mayor Lonny Napper and staff met with TD Canada Trust representatives to try and reverse the decision to close the Wyoming bank.

Unfortunately, despite requests to re-consider, the town was advised that the decision was final, and won't be reversed.

Mayor Napper says he's unhappy with TD's decision to close the bank.

"I, together with the rest of council, are very disappointed regarding TD Bank’s decision to leave our community. The Town of Plympton-Wyoming together with our residents have been long-time supporters of the TD Canada Trust," says Napper. "The decision to leave the community will negatively impact our residents and our community. Council will be taking a look at which Financial Institution we will support in the future."

TD Bank will be holding a Public Open House on March 29th at 6:00pm at the Legion in Wyoming.

The meeting will provide residents the opportunity to obtain additional information and ask questions of TD Canada Trust representatives.
