Canine Unit Helps Track Down Impaired Driver

A 44-year-old Warwick Township resident was charged with impaired driving after a man was tracked down by Lambton OPP's Canine Unit following a crash on eastbound Hwy. 402.

Police say they received multiple complaints about a dark Ford Mustang travelling at a high rate of speed near Forest Rd. around 9:45pm Thursday.

They say the car narrowly missed a head-on crash and ended up in the east ditch but no one was found with the vehicle. A search was launched and shortly after a man was found hiding in a field about 30 m away.

He was transported to Middlesex OPP headquarters where he allegedly blew over the legal limit.
