Impaired Driver Arrested At Residence

A 24-year-old Sarnia man is facing charges, including impaired driving, after a hit and run crash at Capel St. and Maxwell St. Thursday afternoon.

Sarnia police say an off-duty detective witnessed the crash around 2:15pm. He, along with the other driver, relayed information about the suspect vehicle to responding officers.

The accused and his vehicle were located at a residence a short time later.

Police say he showed signs of intoxication and was transported to Sarnia police headquarters where he registered 230 mg of alcohol in 100 ml of blood.

He has been charged with impaired driving, and failing to stop at the scene of a collision.

He was released on a promise to appear. No injuries were reported.
