St. Clair Township Robbery Investigated

Lambton OPP have arrested a Walpole Island man in connection with a robbery in St. Clair Township Thursday evening.

Police say it happened around 6:30pm at a business in the 4300-block of St. Clair Pkwy.

Constable Travis Parsons says it's alleged three unknown males, believed to be intoxicated, entered the business and after being refused service, one of them removed merchandise and attempted to leave.

"At this point, an employee and another patron in the business attempted to stop the male," says Parsons. "At that time, he became violent. No injuries were sustained, luckily, to the employee or the patron as a result and three males left the area on foot."

Constable Parsons says OPP were able to locate a lone male suspect walking along a railroad track in the area. After a short foot pursuit the 28-year-old was arrested.

Tony Mitchell Jimenez has been charged with robbery and three counts of failing to comply with recognizance.

He was being held for a bail hearing.
