Sting Fall To Otters In Series Opener

The Sarnia Sting dropped a 6-3 decision to the Erie Otters in Game 1 on Thursday, in the first round of OHL playoffs.

Drake Rymsha kicked off the game with a goal for Sarnia 3:20 into the first period, but the Otters were able to score three of their own to take the lead.

Jordan Ernst added another goal for the Sting halfway through the second, but Erie added another as well to hold a 4-2 advantage going into the third.

The Otters scored another goal early in the final frame, before Jordan Kyrou scored Sarnia's third goal of the night 10:53 into the period. Erie tacked on one final unanswered goal with just under four minutes left in the game to cap off their win.

Sarnia goaltender Justin Fazio made 45 saves out of 51 shots on net.

The two teams are in Sarnia on Saturday for Game 2. The puck drops at 7:05pm.
