Two veterans of the waste resources and recycling industry have announced the name of a new company setting up shop in the former Entropex building in Sarnia. Emmie Leung and Tony Moucachen, the respective founders of Emterra Group and Merlin Plastics Group, formed a partnership last summer. They acquired the assets of Entropex, including the 180,000 sq ft recycling facility on Lougar Ave., to form ReVital Polymers Inc. A news release says ReVital recovers post-consumer and post-industrial plastics and processes the materials into discrete resin types which are tailored to specific customer end-use applications.
It's not yet known exactly when production will start or how many employees will be hired. Entropex closed in July 2016 after 40 years in business, throwing 155 people out of work. Last fall Rob Smith, a partner with court appointed receiver MNP Ltd., said it was his understanding the new owners planned to rehire as many former Entropex employees as possible.
