Woman Charged After Car Hits House In Alvinston

Lambton OPP have charged a 57-year-old woman after a vehicle slammed into a residence in Alvinston.

At around 4am on March 20, OPP and Lambton EMS were called to a home in the 8000-block of Lorne St.

Police say a car traveling south on Morrell St. ran through a stop sign, and hit a house causing significant damage.

A hydrometer and hydro stack were also damaged.

Police say the vehicle left the scene before their arrival.

No one in the home was injured.

Police say their investigation has resulted in charges of careless driving, failing to report an accident and driving without a licence being laid against Cynthia Marylou Kerr of Brooke-Alvinston.
