UPDATE: Shelter-In-Place Lifted After Gas Line Struck

A neighbourhood in Sarnia's south end was cordoned off for public safety for awhile Monday.

Sarnia police say a gas line was struck by a works crew at Devine St. and Christina St. at mid afternoon.

A precautionary shelter-in-place order was issued for homes within a 200 m radius of the intersection.

The order was lifted within about an hour and the blocked off area was reopened at around 4:30pm.

There were no injuries.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
