Be A Donor Month

The month of April is National Organ and Tissue Donor Awareness Month.

Sarnia Organ Donor Awareness Group spokesperson Sue Morrison-Weir is urging residents to make sure they are registered donors.

"A lot of people believe they are registered and yet they're not," she says. "In fact, Trillium just came out with statistics that show 1.8-million Ontarians believe they are registered and they are not. And it only takes a couple of minutes to do so. You just have to go online to www.beadonor.ca/soda to do so."

There are currently over 1,500 Ontarians waiting for tissue or organ transplants.
