Lambton County Supports City Load Corridor

Lambton County Council is establishing a $100,000 budget, subject to senior government funding support and local cost sharing, for the oversize load corridor project.

The money is for public consultation and detailed design of a $12-million dedicated corridor for the transport of oversized industrial components to Sarnia Harbour.

A recently completed study says investing in such a corridor would pay for itself through job creation and increased economic activity.

Road and power line modifications from the city’s industrial district to an upgraded harbour would be needed.

It’s proposed the city of Sarnia provide $4-million over four years for the project with matching funding from both the federal and provincial governments.
