Sarnia's Madisyn Campbell had quite the season for the Lambton College Women's Basketball team.
The St. Clair graduate averaged 19.1 points and 5.2 rebounds per game in her third season with the Lions. That's a big offensive jump from the 4.9 points and 2.1 rebounds she averaged during her sophomore campaign.
Campbell credits the work she put in during the offseason.
"I went to the gym to a lot more, made sure I got more shots up," she says. "My younger sister is on the team too, this was her first year, so we worked extra hard in the summer to get ready for the season."

The increase in production earned Campbell more minutes on the floor, she went from averaging 12.2 minutes per game in 2015-2016 to 31 minutes last season.
Campbell scored double digit points in all 18 games she played, recording at least 20 points on eight occasions. Her season high was 26 in a 73-56 win over Sault College on January 14.
Her hard work paid off as Campbell won several awards during the college's athletic awards banquet. She was awarded the team's Offensive Player of the Year, and was named the Lions' Female Athlete of the Year.
She was thrilled to see her hard work get awarded at the banquet.
"It's been a three year wait to get something so it was really exciting, and to have my teammates there winning awards as well made it more special," says Campbell.
With two more years of eligibility, Campbell plans to return to Lambton College in the fall to begin the police foundations program.
The Lions announced a new head coach in March, and Campbell says preparation has already begun for next season.
"We've already started training, more than half the team is from the area so we are able to practice twice a week if we can," she says. "Our new coach has a lot of great drills and all these really great workouts and shooting techniques, I've already seen improvements in my shot."
Campbell says she's excited about the new athletic facility being built at Lambton College, and hopes she's hopes to play at least a game in the new building before she graduates.
