Police Say Driver Impaired By Pot

Lambton OPP have arrested a 26-year-old St. Clair Township man for allegedly driving under the influence of marijuana.

Just after 4pm Wednesday, an officer on patrol observed a pickup truck being driven in an aggressive manner on St. Clair Pkwy.

During a traffic stop, the officer allegedly smelt burnt and fresh marijuana inside the vehicle. The driver was arrested and taken to the Lambton OPP Petrolia Detachment for drug testing which resulted in a fail.

The man is charged with driving while ability impaired, and possession of a schedule two substance.

He'll appear in Sarnia court May 24.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
