Sarnia's Bayside Mall Sold Again

Sarnia's Bayside Centre has another new owner.

Mayor Mike Bradley has reported that a purchase deal closed last week and he expressed optimism about the wherewithal of the new owners.

Sources indicate it is a well known group that intends to make an announcement in the very near future.

The 245,000 sq ft facility was bought by Vaughn-based Wilsondale Assets Management in 2015 for $1.75-million and ambitious redevelopment plans were announced for the site and surrounding properties. The plans, including a new housing development and grocery store, have been held up, however, by legal wrangling over ownership.

Lambton County is the major tenant in the mall, leasing 55,000 sq ft for the Lambton Shared Services Centre.
