Car Hits Marked Safety Vehicle On Hwy. 402

Lambton OPP say a car slammed into a marked safety vehicle on Hwy. 402 Wednesday morning, closing the eastbound lanes near Oil Heritage Rd.

Police, firefighters, and EMS responded to the scene around 9:30am.

Police say a safety vehicle, one of several doing line painting on the highway, was hit by an eastbound car trying to pass two tractor trailers. There was significant damage and both drivers suffered minor injuries.

The road was closed for several hours for clean up.

Police say the investigation is ongoing and charges are pending.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
