Teen Charged With Careless Driving

Sarnia police have charged a young driver with careless driving after a vehicle hit the ditch on Rapids Parkway Monday afternoon.

Police say a car travelling north just after 2pm went out of control and veered into the ditch on the east side of the road, north of Berger Rd.

The driver reportedly hit a hydro pole trying to get out of the ditch.

Police say nobody in the vehicle, including the 17-year-old male driver, was seriously injured and the pole prevented the vehicle from striking construction workers in the area at the time.
