Pair Arrested, Charged In Oneida Reserve Robbery

Sarnia police have arrested a pair of suspects, wanted in connection with a robbery on the Oneida reserve.

On Wednesday morning, officers found a stolen vehicle at a motel on London Line.

Around 9:50am, police closed in on the vehicle as it attempted to leave the parking lot, and arrested two suspects.

Robert Ireland, 31, and Cheyanne Metatawabin, 23, were both wanted by Middlesex OPP on numerous charges.

Ireland is facing charges of robbery with a weapon, two counts of possession of property obtained by crime, and breach of recognizance. He also had outstanding warrants from Guelph and Timmins.

Metatawabin is facing charges of assault with a weapon, robbery with a weapon, uttering threats, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and mischief. She's also wanted in Timmins on a warrant.

Both are being held by Sarnia police. They'll be transported to Middlesex to face the charges.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
