Great Lakes Secondary Receives Donation

Great Lakes Secondary School has received a $35,000 donation from the Catherine Wilson Foundation.

The money is allocated for seven $3,000 graduation scholarships, $9,000 goes to the athletics program and $5,000 is set aside for the school library which was named after Catherine Wilson in 2010.

The late Catherine Wilson was an English teacher at Sarnia Collegiate Institute & Technical School (SCITS) for more than 35 years.

The foundation that carries her name was established in 1998 and has provided funding for scholarships and extracurricular programs at SCITS since 2010.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
