Furniture Store Moves As Local Brewery Expands

TJ's Furniture and Home Decor is moving down the road.

The London Rd. store will be taking over the space previously occupied by Brian's Footwear on London Line, across from John's Restaurant.

Manager John Vandermaden says an opening date has not been set, but they have to be out of the existing location by the end of July.

The move in part is due to the Refined Fool Brewing Company's expansion.

"The Refined Fool has wanted this place badly and it gave us the opportunity to downsize a little bit, so it worked out well for the both of us," says Vandermaden.

Refined Fool hopes to produce nearly 2,500 barrels a year at startup, with long-term annual production at the former TJ's site of just over 9,700 barrels.

The existing business on Davis St. would remain as a tap room and rental sales outlet with the majority of production shifting to the new facility.

Vandermaden says to allow for the move to the smaller London Line location, they've expanded their hours for a huge clear out sale.

TJ's Furniture and Home Decor has been operating out of the London Rd. site for 17 years.
