Police Identify Suspect In Tuesday Stabbing

Sarnia police have named the suspect in Tuesday morning's stabbing near Mitton St. and Wellington St.

Police say the 27-year-old victim was stabbed during an attempted theft around 2am. He was taken to Bluewater Health and then transferred to London where he remains in stable condition.

Kalan Pereira, 26, was arrested without incident around 6am in the 100-block of Brock St. S.  He is facing charges of armed robbery, attempted murder and breach of probation. He has been remanded into custody pending further court dates.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
