Alleged Fentanyl Traffickers Arrested

Sarnia police have seized fentanyl, marijuana and cash in a drug bust by Vice Branch officers.

Around 4:30pm on Thursday, police say they observed two men in a car allegedly involved in a drug transaction in the 400-block of Christina St. N.

Police arrested 25-year-old Robert Smith and the driver of the vehicle, 29-year-old Anthony Farina, both of Sarnia, as well as a third man, who was allegedly buying drugs.  Officers later executed a search warrant at a home in the 100-block of Ann St. in connection to the bust.

As a result of the police investigation, officers have seized $4,400 worth of fentanyl patches, about 88 g of marijuana with a street value of $880, and just over $12,000 in cash.

Smith and Farina are both charged with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking fentanyl and marijuana, and trafficking fentanyl.

The third man was released after being charged with possession of fentanyl.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
