Woman Charged After Car Hits Pole

A Sarnia woman is facing charges after a car lost control and slammed into a hydro pole on Vidal St. Tuesday morning.

Sarnia police, firefighters, and EMS, were called to the scene just south of Devine St. around 9am.

Constable John Sottosanti says the pole was sheared off at the base.

"The driver, a lone female, was seen on scene by paramedics and was treated and released," says Sottosanti. "The hydro pole was required to be replaced by Bluewater Power."

The woman is charged with careless driving, driving while suspended, having expired plates, and not wearing a seatbelt.

The road was closed for a couple of hours.
