Beaches Clear For Canada Day Swimming

Lake Huron beaches tested weekly by Lambton Public Health are clear for the Canada Day long weekend.

Water quality is tested at Grand Bend, Pinery, Ipperwash, Highland Glen, Bright's Grove and Canatara.

No warning signs are posted.

We’re reminded that following heavy rainfall, the water at area beaches may be temporarily polluted for up to 48 hours.

Public Health Inspector Theresa Warren says if the water becomes cloudy due to wave action, bacteria from the bottom may become suspended and increase the risk of illness.
