Mobile Market Delivering Fresh Produce To Those In Need

The Inn of the Good Shepherd's Mobile Market is making the rounds again this summer.

Executive Director Myles Vanni says the big van stops at 14 locations, providing fresh, local produce to those in need.

"It's cheaper to eat unhealthy food, it's expensive to eat healthy," says Vanni. "You tend to buy the Kraft Dinner to feed your kids rather than a garden salad which is more expensive. People who are living in poverty, struggling day to day, their health just isn't as good."

In 2016, the Mobile Market delivered over 6,200 lbs. of fresh produce each week.

The vegetables were donated by local farmers, greenhouses and gardeners.
