Sarnia police are looking for a young man who allegedly took advantage of elderly, vulnerable residents on two occasions in the city's central area.
On July 18 between 8pm and 10pm, a man showed up at a woman's door at East St. and London Rd. claiming he had injured his arm and needed help.
She let him use a portable landline phone as he stood outside but after going back inside to get him something to drink, she returned to find that the man had left with her phone.
A second incident occurred in the area of London Rd. and MacKenzie St. Police say a man, saying he had an injured arm, quickly left on foot after the female resident recalled she had given him $20 to get to the hospital on a previous occasion.
The man is described as being in his early 20s, unkempt, of thin build and clean shaven.
Police say he has not been violent and threatening in any way.

Police say residents, especially those who may be vulnerable, should not open doors to strangers. Neighbours and family are asked to keep an eye out for those who could be victimized by such incidents.
