Environment Canada had issued a severe thunderstorm warning for all of Lambton County for Sunday evening, including the city of Sarnia.
The weather agency had said a line of storms is over Lake Huron, and had spread in a line along the lake shoreline.
The warning ended shortly after 8:30pm.
A severe thunderstorm watch remains in effect as of 9pm.

Local runners will lace up this weekend in support of cancer research.
Over 40 candidates are competing for a spot on the Walpole Island First Nation band council in the upcoming election on Saturday, September 19.
The event was originally planned to commemorate Corunna almost becoming the capital of Canada.
A meet the candidates night is planned on Monday, September 21 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Maawn Doosh Gumig Community and Youth Centre.
The series will bring both aspiring and established business owners together on Tuesday evenings at the Maawn Doosh Gumig Community Centre.
Gates for the three-day fair will open at the Wyoming Fair Grounds on Main Street on Friday, September 18, at 5 p.m., with opening ceremonies beginning at 7 p.m.
