Zoning And Official Plan Amendments Requested For New Subdivision

It could be another year yet before construction on a major subdivision at Bright's Grove Golf Club begins.

Jay McGuffin is principal planner/vice president with Monteith Brown Planning Consultants.

He says they've asked for amendments to the City's Official Plan and zoning bylaws.

"We will have about eight, freehold, single detached dwelling lots," says McGuffin. "There will also be multiple entrances into two separate condominium blocks. One would provide for townhomes and the other would provide for what is referred to as a vacant land condominium, which is essentially a condominium with single detached dwellings within a standard subdivision, but on private road systems rather than public roads."

McGuffin says the project would cost between $30-million and $40-million and occupy about two acres of land.

The remaining eight hectare portion of the land will be re-developed to a nine-hole, par three golf course with the clubhouse and associated parking to be relocated to the south-eastern corner of the site with access off of Lakeshore Rd.
