Sarnia's VIP Rail is hoping to further expand its reach in chemical valley after being bought by Denver-based Alpenglow Rail.
The purchase includes the Vidal St. and Dockside industrial parks, which total over 150 acres and include capacity for over 1,000 cars.
VIP CEO Jon McEachran is excited to leverage Alpenglow's expertise.
"It will help some of the industrial parks in chemical valley that are trying to attract new industry," says McEachran. "A lot of those industries need a good rail service provider. That's what we specialize in, and we see good things coming down the road."
McEachran says Alpenglow has connections across corporate America, which will help grow the business.
He says they've agreed to keep all of VIP's current workers, and he'll continue his role as CEO.
VIP Rail is a rail services and terminal operation providing industrial switching, transloading, warehousing and trucking.
