Old Theatre, Norm's Demolished (VIDEO)

Two familiar London Rd. buildings have fallen victim to the wrecking ball.

Demolition of Sarnia's old Lambton 9 movie theatre and Norm's Pub & Grill began Tuesday.

Lambton Mall Property Manager Laura Beecroft says there are still no plans for the site, but the owners are accepting and considering offers.

"We're not in a hurry to see something happen, however it's always good to help that along a little bit and produce something that is beneficial for the city," says Beecroft.

Beecroft says it's expected the buildings will be completely torn down by the end of today but it could take a couple of weeks to clear debris from the site.

The old Famous Players theatre closed in 2013 and has sat empty ever since. Norm's closed this past April after the restaurant's lease was not renewed.
