Golf Tournament Raises 20K For Charity

The first annual Dave Scatcherd Memorial Golf Tournament, held at the Oakwood Golf Resort in June, raised over $20,000 for local charities.

It was held by the family of the former club owner who died in June 2016 at the age of 79.

The tournament drew 80 golfers for the 18 hole shotgun start that included many auction items and dinner. Everyone was decked out in Dave's favourite colour pink on what would have been his 81st birthday.

The money raised will be split between Community Living of South Huron and London, Sari Theraputic Riding, as well as Jessica's House.

Each of the charities selected share Dave's desire to support children with special needs and intellectual disabilities.

Next year's tournament is being held on June 12, 2018 at Oakwood Resort in Grand Bend.
